Die Ampelkoalition hat die Meldepflicht für das Respiratorisch Synzytial Virus (RSV) auf den Weg gebracht.
Das berichtet die Ärztezeitung.
Eine entsprechende Änderung des Infektionsschutzgesetzes hat der Bundestag bereits Mitte Juni verabschiedet.
Den Bundesrat soll das Gesetz am Freitag, 7. Juli, passieren.
Nachdem Vakzine gegen das Virus in Europa zugelassen worden seien, schafften die Regierungsfraktionen nun die Voraussetzungen für eine Impfstrategie.
Anfang Mai 2023 wurde in den USA der erste Impfstoff gegen RSV zugelassen.
Jetzt hat auch die Europäische Kommission den ersten Impfstoff gegen RSV zugelassen.
Mit Einführung einer Meldepflicht sind Ärztinnen und Ärzte aufgefordert, mit RSV infizierte Menschen namentlich den jeweils zuständigen Gesundheitsbehörden zu melden.
Und wie wird getestet? Richtig – mit einem PCR-Test!
