In der Vergangenheit ist es im Töpfenhofweg zwischen Leuschnerstraße und An der Kurhessenhalle regelmäßig zu verkehrlichen Problemen gekommen.

Schwierigkeiten ergaben sich immer dann, wenn sich größere Fahrzeuge begegnet sind und durch beidseitig parkende Fahrzeuge der Platz fehlte, um aneinander vorbei zu fahren. Zudem wurde der Töpfenhofweg regelmäßig genutzt, um die Ampel an der Leuschnerstraße / Frankfurter Straße zu umfahren. Anwohner und Ortsbeirat haben sich daher mit der Bitte an die Stadt gewandt, dort eine Einbahnstraße einzurichten. Nach intensiver Prüfung durch die Verkehrsbehörde und Beratung im Ortsbeirat wird die geänderte Verkehrsführung nunmehr am Mittwoch, 28. Juni, eingerichtet. Die Einbahnstraße ist in Richtung An der Kurhessenhalle befahrbar. Sie beginnt hinter der Einfahrt der Kfz-Werkstatt und endet vor der ersten Zufahrt zu den Märkten an der Frankfurter Straße. Die Abgrenzung ist bewusst so gewählt, damit sowohl die Ein- und Ausfahrt der dortigen Werkstatt über die Leuschnerstraße erfolgen kann als auch die Erreichbarkeit der Märkte aus beiden Richtungen möglich bleibt. Somit wird verhindert, dass der gesamte Verkehr über den Topfenhofweg fahren muss. Für den Radverkehr bleibt die Straße wie bisher auch in beide Richtungen befahrbar.
