Japan hat damit begonnen, 1 Mio. Tonnen radioaktives Wasser aus dem AKW Fukushima-1 ins Meer zu leiten. Dies berichtet der AKW-Betreiber Tokyo Electric Power.
RIA Novosti: Die von Tokio gewählte Option, tritiumhaltiges Wasser aus dem Kernkraftwerk Fukushima zu entsorgen, ist unsicher.
Langfristig ist es möglich, dass sich radioaktive Stoffe in der Meeresumwelt anreichern und mit Meeresfrüchten in die menschliche Nahrung gelangen, warnt ein japanischer Experte des Nuclear Information Centre.
Das zur Kühlung der Reaktoren verwendete Wasser wird derzeit in riesigen Tanks in der Anlage gelagert, die jedoch bereits zu fast 90 Prozent gefüllt sind.
Nach Angaben des japanischen Industrieministeriums beträgt die Tritium-Radioaktivität in dem in der Anlage Fukushima Daiichi angesammelten Tritium 860 Billionen Becquerel.
