Griechenland macht Hunderte von Stränden rollstuhlgerecht, indem es das von Griechenland entwickelte Seatrac-System für Rollstühle installiert.
Das System ist ein kostenloser Service, der Menschen mit Behinderungen und Mobilitätsproblemen den ungehinderten Zugang zum Meer ermöglicht. Es ist ein innovativer, technologischer Assistent, der Autonomie, Qualität und Wohlbefinden im Alltag fördert.
Auf einer Pressekonferenz zu dem Projekt am Donnerstag sagten Beamte, dass insgesamt 287 Strände in ganz Griechenland für Menschen mit Mobilitätsproblemen vollständig zugänglich sein werden, indem andere wichtige Einrichtungen wie Parkplätze, Toiletten/Umkleideräume, Rampen und Gänge zu Sonnenliegen und Erfrischungsbars eingeführt werden.
Nach Angaben der Behörden wurden bereits 147 Strände umgestaltet, um sie besser zugänglich zu machen.
“Der gleichberechtigte Zugang zum Meer ist ein unveräußerliches Menschenrecht”, sagte Tourismusminister Vassilis Kikilias und fügte hinzu, dass das 15-Millionen-Euro-Projekt von der Europäischen Union und aus nationalen Mitteln finanziert wird.
