April (Ortszeit) auf Kamtschatka aus und schleuderte seine Asche 20 Kilometer weit.

Nach Angaben des Instituts für Vulkanologie der Fernöstlichen Abteilung der Russischen Akademie der Wissenschaften besteht die Gefahr, dass heiße Ströme die Verkehrsroute blockieren.

“Die Eruption des Schivelutsch in der Nacht zum 11. April hat ein paroxysmales Stadium erreicht (ein Abstieg von Strömen rotglühender Masse von den Hängen – Anmerkung).

Das Institut wies darauf hin, dass die Luftfahrt wegen des Vulkanausbruchs die höchste Gefahrenstufe “Rot” erhalten hat.

Ascheregen

Aufgrund des Schivelutsch-Ausbruchs wurde den Bewohnern der Region Ust-Kamtschatski geraten, ihre Häuser nicht unnötig zu verlassen, Schulen wurden in der Region geschlossen und der Verkehr gesperrt

Laut Wissenschaftlern können die Vulkanströme bis zu 20 km zurücklegen, und der Ascheregen könnte nach Angaben des Ministeriums für Notsituationen den zentralen Teil von Kamtschatka erreichen.
