(ots) Kassel-Süd: Dank zweier aufmerksamer Zeugen gelang einer Streife des Polizeireviers Süd-West am Mittwochabend in der Kasseler Südstadt die Festnahme eines Tatverdächtigen nach Sachbeschädigungen an mindestens drei geparkten Autos.
Die Zeugen hatten gegen 21:30 Uhr über den Notruf mitgeteilt, dass ein scheinbar angetrunkener Mann durch die Raiffeisenstraße zieht und geparkte Autos mutwillig beschädigt.
Da die beiden Anrufer sowohl eine präzise Beschreibung des Täters als auch seine Fluchtrichtung durchgaben, führte die sofort eingeleitete Fahndung nur wenige Minuten später zur Festnahme des Verdächtigen in der Frankfurter Straße.
Bei ihm handelt es sich um einen 54-jährigen Mann aus Kassel, der für die Polizei kein Unbekannter ist.
Die Polizisten stellen anschließend an drei in der Raiffeisenstraße geparkten Autos erhebliche Schäden fest, die sich auf rund 10.000 Euro summieren.
Nach derzeitigem Ermittlungsstand waren die Fahrzeuge rundherum mit einem unbekannten Gegenstand zerkratzt und durch Tritte eingedellt worden.
Die Beamten brachten den 54-Jährigen, bei dem ein Atemalkoholtest 0,4 Promille ergab, zur Verhinderung weiterer Straftaten in eine Gewahrsamszelle des Polizeipräsidiums Nordhessen, wo er die Nacht verbringen musste.
Angaben zu seinen Beweggründen machte der Tatverdächtige nicht. Die Ermittlungen gegen ihn dauern an.
