Demnach erreichen deutschlandweit nur etwa 17 Prozent die Benchmarks in den fünf Kategorien: körperliche Aktivität, gesunde Ernährung, Verzicht auf Nikotin- und Alkoholgenuss sowie niedrigem Stresslevel. Am gesündesten leben laut Bericht die Menschen in Rheinland-Pfalz und dem Saarland. Wie der grafische Bundesländer-Vergleich zeigt, haben hier rund 20,9 Prozent der Umfrageteilnehmer:innen die Kriterien erfüllen können. Die DKV registriert in diesem Gebiet auch den größten Nichtraucheranteil. Eine weniger gesunde Lebensweise pflegen hingegen die Bewohner:innen von NRW (12,2 Prozent), Hessen (13,4 Prozent) und Hamburg (13,6 Prozent). In diesen drei Bundesländern war der Anteil der, alle fünf Benchmarks erreicht hat am geringsten. Hamburg hat in den vorherigen Rankings stets gut abgeschnitten. Vor allem in den Kategorien Aktivität und Ernährung schneiden die Hanseat:innen gut ab.
