WIESBADEN – Trotz niedrigerer Ernteerwartung bleiben Äpfel das mit Abstand am meisten geerntete Baumobst in Deutschland.

Die Obstbaubetriebe erwarten im Jahr 2023 eine Apfelernte von rund 889 000 Tonnen.

Wie das Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) nach einer ersten Schätzung vom Juli 2023 mitteilt, werden damit voraussichtlich 182 000 Tonnen weniger Äpfel geerntet (-17,0 %) als im ertragreichen Vorjahr mit 1 071 000 Tonnen.

Gegenüber dem zehnjährigen Durchschnitt wird die diesjährige Apfelernte nach ersten Prognosen um 92 000 Tonnen und damit etwa 9,4 % niedriger ausfallen.
