Die Sperrungen am Freitag, 17. September, werden gegen 7 Uhr eingerichtet und bis spätestens gegen 17 Uhr wieder abgebaut.
Um die Behinderungen für die Verkehrsteilnehmer so gering wie möglich zu halten, erfolgt die Freigabe der betroffenen Straßen im Regelfall nach dem letzten Läufer und der Reinigung der Strecke.

Auch für den ÖPNV wird es zwangsläufig Fahrplanänderungen geben. Diese können im Detail direkt bei der KVG beziehungsweise beim NVV erfragt werden.
Autofahrer können am Sonntag die für den Marathon gesperrten Straßen nur an festgelegten Punkten überqueren.
Die Durchlassstellen werden eingerichtet, um die Erreichbarkeit der von den Sperrungen betroffenen Stadtviertel sicherzustellen.
An folgenden Straßen sind diese Durchlassstellen vorgesehen:
- Am Sportzentrum/Damaschkestraße/Auedamm
- Leipziger Straße/Sandershäuser Straße
- Schützenstraße/Ysenburgstraße
- Schützenstraße/Weserstraße (Katzensprung)
- Straße/Mombachstraße
- Elfbuchenstraße/Friedrich-Ebert-Straße
- Friedrich-Ebert-Straße/Querallee
- Ständeplatz
- Friedrichsplatz/Friedrichsplatzrandstraße/Frankfurter Straße (AOK-Kreuzung)
Darüber hinaus sind auch umfangreiche Sperrungen der Parkplätze direkt am Auestadion beziehungsweise der Eissporthalle von Donnerstag, 14. September, bis Sonntag, 17. September, notwendig.
Die Flächen werden für den Aufbau von Infrastruktur benötigt. Für die öffentliche Nutzung steht der Park and Ride- Parkplatz somit nicht zur Verfügung. Besucherinnen und Besucher werden gebeten, die Parkplätze in der Fuldaaue zu benutzen oder direkt mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln anzureisen.
Die Stadt Kassel bedankt sich bei allen durch die Sperrung des Parkplatzes betroffenen Verkehrsteilnehmenden für Ihr Verständnis.
Da es bei einer Veranstaltung dieser Größenordnung zwangsläufig zu erheblichen Verkehrsbehinderungen kommen wird, wird dringend empfohlen, das Auto stehen zu lassen und auf öffentliche Verkehrsmittel oder das Rad umzusteigen.
