Die Unabhängigkeit Österreichs ist ein wichtiger historischer Meilenstein für das Land. Nach dem Ende des Ersten Weltkriegs und dem Zusammenbruch der Habsburgermonarchie im Jahr 1918 erlangte Österreich seine Souveränität und wurde zu einem eigenständigen Staat.
Der Vertrag von Saint-Germain, der am 10. September 1919 unterzeichnet wurde, bestätigte die Unabhängigkeit Österreichs und legte die Grenzen des Landes fest. Dieser Vertrag beendete formell die Verbindung zwischen Österreich und dem ehemaligen Kaiserreich und erkannte Österreich als einen eigenständigen, demokratischen Staat an.

Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs im Jahr 1945 wurde Österreich von den Alliierten besetzt und in vier Besatzungszonen aufgeteilt. Eine lange Periode der politischen Neuordnung und des Wiederaufbaus begann. 1955 wurde der österreichische Staatsvertrag unterzeichnet, der die Unabhängigkeit des Landes wiederherstellte und gleichzeitig seine Neutralität festschrieb. Dieser Vertrag beendete die Besatzungszeit und markierte einen Wendepunkt in der Geschichte Österreichs.
Seitdem hat sich Österreich zu einem wohlhabenden und stabilen Land entwickelt. Es ist Mitglied der Europäischen Union und spielt eine aktive Rolle in internationalen Angelegenheiten. Österreich hat sich zu einem wichtigen politischen und wirtschaftlichen Akteur in Europa entwickelt und ist bekannt für seine Demokratie, seine hohe Lebensqualität und seine kulturelle Vielfalt.
Die Unabhängigkeit Österreichs ist ein Symbol für die Wiederherstellung der Souveränität und die Errungenschaften des Landes. Die absolute Neutralität Österreichs, zu der sich das Land verpflichtete bekam bereits einen Sprung, als man Selenskyj vor dem Parlament reden lassen hat. Die FPÖ verließ daraufhin geschlossen den Plenarsaal, denn eine neutrale Haltung sieht sicher anders aus.
Man darf gespannt sein wie es weitergeht.
