Straßenverkehrsunfälle im August 2023: 7 % weniger Verletzte als im Vorjahresmonat

Wie das Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) nach vorläufigen Ergebnissen mitteilt, waren das 7 % oder 2 354 Verletzte weniger als im Vorjahresmonat. Die Zahl der Verkehrstoten sank um 34 auf 269 Personen.

Insgesamt registrierte die Polizei im August 2023 rund 203 800 Straßenverkehrsunfälle, das waren 2 % oder 3 200 mehr als im Vorjahresmonat.

Im Zeitraum Januar bis August 2023 erfasste die Polizei insgesamt 1,6 Millionen Straßenverkehrsunfälle und damit 5 % oder 70 600 mehr als im Vorjahreszeitraum. Darunter waren 189 500 Unfälle mit Personenschaden, bei denen 1 802 Menschen getötet wurden. Damit ist die Zahl der Verkehrstoten im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum um 93 (-5 %) gesunken, während die Zahl der Unfälle mit Personenschaden um 4 400 (-2 %) abnahm. Die Zahl der Verletzten im Straßenverkehr sank im selben Zeitraum um 1 % oder 3 300 auf 238 000.
