ots)Kassel: Mit einer rasanten Fahrt über eine rote Ampel machte am gestrigen Mittwochabend ein 24-jähriger Autofahrer auf sich aufmerksam, der mit 1,8 Promille auf der Frankfurter Straße unterwegs war. Dank der schnellen Mitteilung eines Zeugen konnte eine Streife die Alkoholfahrt kurz darauf beenden, ohne dass jemand zu Schaden kam. Gegen den 24-Jährigen aus Rostock wird nun wegen Trunkenheit im Verkehr ermittelt.
Die Meldung über die riskante Fahrweise des Autos war gegen 23 Uhr über den Notruf 110 bei der Polizei eingegangen. Demnach war der Opel mit über 120 km/h auf der Frankfurter Straße unterwegs und über eine rote Ampel gefahren, bevor der Zeuge den in Richtung Innenstadt fahrenden Pkw am Weinberg aus den Augen verlor. Sofort wurde eine Funkfahndung nach dem Opel mit dem durchgegebenen Kennzeichen ausgestrahlt. Diese führte bereits wenige Minuten später zum Erfolg, als eine Streife das gesuchte Auto in der Zeughausstraße entdeckte und anhielt. Der Atemalkoholtest bei dem 24-jährigen Fahrer ergab schließlich den hohen Wert, weshalb er die Beamten zur Blutentnahme auf die Dienststelle begleiten musste. Der Führerschein des Mannes wurde sichergestellt. Die Ermittlungen gegen den 24-Jährigen dauern an.
