(ots)Kassel-Mitte: Die hilflose Lage einer bei einem Unfall schwer verletzten Fußgängerin nutzte am Donnerstagmittag in der Hoffmann-von-Fallersleben-Straße in Kassel offenbar ein bislang unbekannter Dieb, wobei es sich mutmaßlich um einen Schaulustigen an der Unfallstelle handelte.

Wie die aufnehmenden Beamten des Polizeireviers Mitte berichten, hatte sich der Unfall an der Straßenecke Schillerstraße gegen 12:50 Uhr ereignet.

Nach Angaben von Zeugen war die 18-jährige Frau an der roten Fußgängerampel auf die Straße getreten, wobei ihr Blick auf ihr Mobiltelefon gerichtet und sie dadurch offenbar abgelenkt war.

Ein in Richtung Lutherplatz fahrender Mann am Steuer eines Mercedes konnte nicht mehr bremsen und erfasste die plötzlich von rechts kommende Fußgängerin mit seinem Pkw. Die 18-Jährige aus Kassel erlitt bei dem Zusammenstoß schwere, aber nicht lebensbedrohliche Verletzungen und wurde an der Unfallstelle umgehend von Rettungskräften behandelt.

Das zuvor in der Hand gehaltene Mobiltelefon fiel bei der Kollision auf die Straße und konnte trotz einer Absuche der Polizisten und einer Befragung von ca. 30 umstehenden Schaulustigen nicht aufgefunden werden.

Auch nach dem Unfall war das Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max im Wert von ca. 1.500 Euro unauffindbar.

Aufgrund der Gesamtumstände ist davon auszugehen, dass der unbekannte Täter die medizinische Notlage der jungen Frau an der Unfallstelle ausnutzte, um das auf der Straße liegende Handy zu stehlen.

Die Polizei ermittelt nun wegen des Handydiebstahls und sucht Zeugen, die Hinweise auf den unbekannten Täter geben können. Hinweise werden beim Polizeipräsidium Nordhessen unter Tel. 0561-9100 entgegengenommen.
