Viele hatten Schilder mit Slogans wie “Nein zu Sanktionen” und “Stoppt die Militärintervention”, als sie sich auf dem Place de la Concertation in Niamey versammelten.

Der Chef der neuen Regierung in Niger, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, hatte sich am Samstag an die Nation gewandt.

Er kündigte einen 30-tägigen “nationalen Dialog” an, um “konkrete Vorschläge” zu erarbeiten, die den Grundstein für eine neue Verfassung legen sollen.

“Unser Ziel ist es nicht, die Macht an uns zu reißen”, unterstrich der General und erklärte, dass die Übergangsphase nicht länger als drei Jahre dauern werde.

Nach dem Militärputsch in Niger am 26. Juli verhängte die ECOWAS Sanktionen und drohte mit militärischer Intervention.

Es gibt ganz massive Interessen der Franzosen und ja auch Deutschlands, dass die Uranlieferungen schnell wieder aufgenommen werden.

Auch der Rest Europs hätte es vom Prinzip her sehr gerne, wenn die Gaslieferungen die quer durch den NIGER nach Europe gehen weiterlaufen.
