2022 die Zahl der im Straßenverkehr verunglückten Kinder wieder gestiegen.

Wie das Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) mitteilt, kamen im Jahr 2022 rund 25 800 Kinder unter 15 Jahren bei Unfällen im Straßenverkehr zu Schaden, das waren 16 % mehr als im von Maßnahmen gegen die Covid-19-Pandemie geprägten Vorjahr.

Im Vergleich zum Vor-Corona-Jahr 2019 ging die Zahl allerdings um 8 % zurück.

Insgesamt lebten Ende 2022 gut 11,9 Millionen Kinder unter 15 Jahren in Deutschland, Ende 2021 waren es gut 11,6 Millionen.

Ende 2019 lebten hierzulande knapp 11,4 Millionen unter 15-Jährige.

Die Zahl der getöteten Kinder stieg 2022 gegenüber dem Jahr 2021 von 49 auf 51.

Im Schnitt wurde 2022 alle 20 Minuten ein Kind bei einem Verkehrsunfall verletzt oder getötet.
