Opfer übermäßiger physischer Polizeigewalt erleben diese häufig im Rahmen von Demonstrationen und Fußballspielen. Das geht aus der am 17. Mai veröffentlichten Studie “Gewalt im Amt” hervor, die sich mit der Wahrnehmung von Gewalt durch Polizeibeamt:innen und deren strafrechtlicher Aufarbeitung auseinandersetzt. Wie unsere Grafik zeigt, haben knapp 80 Prozent aller Umfrageteilnehmer:innen Gewaltausübung durch die Polizei bei Großveranstaltungen erlebt.
42 Prozent der Befragten gaben an, bei Demos mit übermäßiger Polizeigewalt in Berührung gekommen zu sein, 22 Prozent seien im Fußballkontext Opfer entsprechender Gewaltausübung geworden. Der Großteil der erfahrenen Gewalt fiel dabei in die Kategorien Schlagen (63 Prozent), Schubsen/Stoßen (62 Prozent) und Festhalten beziehungsweise zu hartes Anfassen (48 Prozent).
Die hohe Prävalenz von Gewalterfahrungen bei Fußballspielen könnte auch mit dem Studien-Sample zusammenhängen. Laut der Autor:innen waren 72 Prozent der Befragten männlich, das Durchschnittsalter lag bei relativ jungen 25,9 Jahren und 71 Prozent hatten einen Abschluss an einer höheren Schulform absolviert. Der Anteil der Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund unter den Befragten lag bei rund 16 Prozent.
Aufgrund des Studiendesigns, das nicht auf einer randomisierten und gewichteten Stichprobe, sondern der Befragung von Betroffenen nach dem Schneeballsystem mit Kontaktaufnahme über zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen, Social-Media-Plattformen und Flyern basiert, lassen sich keine generellen Schlüsse über die Häufigkeit und Art von Polizeigewalt in Deutschland ziehen. Zudem erschwert die nur schwer einschätzbare Dunkelziffer der von Polizeigewalt betroffenen Menschen, auch aufgrund von mangelnder Bereitschaft, entsprechende Vorfälle zur Anzeige zu bringen, das Treffen allgemeingültiger Aussagen.
