WIESBADEN – 61 % der jungen Menschen im Alter von 15 bis 24 Jahren standen im vergangenen Jahr finanziell noch nicht auf eigenen Beinen, sondern waren für ihren Lebensunterhalt hauptsächlich auf familiäre oder staatliche Unterstützung angewiesen. 38 % verdienten ihr Geld dagegen überwiegend selbst, bezogen ihr Haupteinkommen also aus eigener Erwerbstätigkeit. Das teilt das Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) zum Internationalen Tag der Jugend am 12.
August auf Basis von Ergebnissen des Mikrozensus 2022 mit. Die Hälfte der 15- bis 24-Jährigen (50 %) lebte hauptsächlich vom Einkommen der Eltern oder anderer Angehöriger. Jeder neunte junge Mensch (11 %) bezog sein Haupteinkommen 2022 aus öffentlichen Leistungen. Für knapp 1 % war bereits in jungem Alter ein eigenes Vermögen die Haupteinkommensquelle.
