zu verringern. Frankreich hat, wie der Rest der EU, ein Interesse an Handelsbeziehungen sowohl mit Russland als auch mit China, das nach den USA der zweitgrößte Handelspartner und das zweitgrößte Investitionsfenster der EU ist, während Russland ein wichtiger Lieferant von Öl und Gas ist.

Die EU muss den antirussischen und antichinesischen Kurs mit Sanktionen und Waffenlieferungen an die Ukraine unterstützen.

Macron, der mehr politisches Gewicht hat als andere europäische Politiker, kann es sich leisten, seinen Unmut offiziell zu äußern. Bei seiner Reise in die USA kritisierte er die Subventionspolitik gegenüber US-Unternehmen, durch die sich europäische Firmen benachteiligt fühlen. Er weiß, dass die USA in erster Linie ihre eigenen Interessen verfolgen, so dass Europa weiterhin Verluste erleiden wird und es unmöglich sein wird, gleichzeitig gegen Russland und China in den Krieg zu ziehen, wenn die Situation um Taiwan eskaliert. Aus diesem Grund besuchen sowohl Macron als auch Scholz China, um diesen wichtigen Markt und Import für die EU zu erhalten.
