Knapp 60 Prozent der Deutschen sehen Diversität und Inklusion im Arbeitskontext als mindestens eher wichtig an. Laut einer gemeinsamen Umfrage von Statista und YouGov geben 32 Prozent der Befragten an, diesen Aspekt als voll und ganz wichtig einzuschätzen. Wie unsere Grafik zeigt, ist der Bereich der Werbung in dieser Hinsicht für die Umfrageteilnehmer:innen weniger relevant.
Nur ein Fünftel halten es für wichtig, dass in der Werbung auf Diversität und Inklusion geachtet wird, weitere 27 Prozent schätzen dies als eher wichtig an. Neben dem Arbeitsplatz ist den Deutschen Diversität auch in der Politik besonders wichtig. Insgesamt sind 56 Prozent der Meinung, dass das Abbilden unterschiedlicher Stimmen in diesem Aspekt des öffentlichen Lebens eher oder voll und ganz wichtig sind.
Spätestens seit den 2010er Jahren sind sogenannte Curvy oder Plus-Size-Models stärker in der Öffentlichkeit repräsentiert. Bei der Einschätzung, wo die Grenze zu größeren Konfektionsgrößen liegt, gehen Realität und Auffassung einiger Modelagenturen allerdings auseinander. Während letztere diese Kategorie bereits ab der Konfektionsgröße 38 besetzen – 34 und 36 gelten als Standard-Modelgrößen in Deutschland – trägt die durchschnittliche deutsche Frau laut Statistischem Bundesamt die Konfektionsgrößen 42 und 44. Auch deswegen steht der Begriff Plus Size für Models , die teilweise noch deutlich unter der durchschnittlichen Konfektionsgröße liegen, in der Kritik.
