(ots)Kassel: Zu gleich zwei Polizeieinsätzen, die für größeres Aufsehen in der Bevölkerung sorgten, kam es am gestrigen Donnerstagnachmittag in Kassel.
In einem Fall musste die Polizei am Friedrichsplatz einen offenbar psychisch kranken Mann im Besitz eines Messers festnehmen, im anderen Fall war die Polizei in der Ysenburgstraße zur Festnahme eines Tatverdächtigen einer häuslichen Gewalt im größeren Einsatz, wodurch es zu Straßensperrungen kam.

Mann hatte sich in Tiefgarage offenbar selbst verletzt
Zum Friedrichsplatz war die Polizei gegen 13:50 Uhr gerufen, weil sich in der dortigen Tiefgarage ein Mann mit einem Messer aufhalten solle.
Zeugen riefen deswegen zudem auch bei der Rettungsleitstelle an, weil der Mann sich selbst verletzt hatte.
Einer herbeigeeilten Polizeistreife gelang es, den offenbar psychisch kranken 42-Jährigen, der in einer Flüchtlingseinrichtung im Landkreis Kassel wohnt, festzunehmen.
Da der Mann, der bereits blutende Verletzungen aufwies, noch im Besitz des Messers war, mussten die Beamten Pfefferspray einsetzen, um ihn entwaffnen zu können.
Der 42-Jährige wurde zur Versorgung seiner Verletzungen, die nicht schwerwiegend sein sollen, mit einem Rettungswagen in ein Krankenhaus gebracht und wird dort nun zunächst medizinisch versorgt.
Die Einweisung in ein psychiatrisches Krankenhaus wird entsprechend geprüft.

Tatverdächtiger nach häuslicher Gewalt in Ysenburgstraße festgenommen
Zu dem Einsatz in der Ysenburgstraße war es gestern Nachmittag gekommen, da sich dort in der Wohnung eines Mehrfamilienhauses der Tatverdächtige einer häuslichen Gewalt aufgehalten hatte.
Der 29-Jährige steht im Verdacht, gestern Mittag in seiner Wohnung im Landkreis Kassel seine Lebensgefährtin mittels körperlicher Gewalt verletzt zu haben.
Das Opfer wurde aus diesem Grund später zur Behandlung in ein Krankenhaus gebracht. Die Polizei erhielt schließlich im weiteren Verlauf Kenntnis von dem Vorfall und nahm die Ermittlungen auf.
Dabei ergaben sich Hinweise darauf, dass der Tatverdächtige im Besitz einer Schusswaffe sein könnte und sich in der Wohnung in der Ysenburgstraße aufhalte.
Aus Gründen der Eigensicherung und zur Abwehr von möglichen Gefahren kam bei der Festnahme eine Spezialeinheit zum Einsatz.
Der 29-Jährige konnte gegen 15 Uhr schließlich festgenommen werden.
Die weiteren Ermittlungen in diesem Fall sowie Durchsuchungsmaßnahmen dauern derzeit noch an.
Aufgrund des Polizeieinsatzes war die Ysenburgstraße vorübergehend gesperrt worden, wodurch es zu Verkehrsbehinderungen kam.
