Pro-palästinensische Mahnwache in Kassel verlief störungsfrei

Die für 15:00 Uhr anberaumte Demonstration auf dem Rathausvorplatz unter dem Motto “Stoppt das Töten in Gaza” war von der Stadt Kassel vorgestern verboten worden und es haben sich auch keine Personen vor dem Rathaus eingefunden, die dieser verbotenen Versammlung zugerechnet werden konnten.

Die zweite Versammlung, eine auf dem Königsplatz in Kassel für den Zeitraum von 16:30 Uhr bis 17:30 Uhr angemeldete “Mahnwache für Frieden in Nahost”, war von der Stadt Kassel zwar verboten worden, gegen das Verbot wurden vom Anmelder aber Rechtsmittel eingelegt. Letztendlich hat der Hessische Verwaltungsgerichtshof mit heutigem Urteil das Verbot der Stadt Kassel aufgehoben und die Mahnwache konnte durchgeführt werden.

Ab 16:30 Uhr kamen ca. 280 Personen auf dem Königsplatz zusammen und thematisierten in Redebeiträgen und mit Plakaten die Situation in Palästina. Es wurden palästinensische Flaggen gezeigt und in Sprechchören unter anderem “Free Palestine” skandiert.

Gegen 17:40 Uhr wurde durch den Leiter der Versammlung deren offizielles Ende erklärt und die Teilnehmer verließen im Anschluss den Königsplatz in verschiedene Richtungen.

Für die Polizei, die mit zahlreichen Beamtinnen und Beamten vor Ort war, blieb der Nachmittag ruhig und die Mahnwache verlief aus polizeilicher Sicht störungsfrei. Aktuell wird noch geprüft, ob die skandierten Parolen strafrechtlich relevante Aussagen beinhaltet haben könnten.
