Sie bestand darin, bei Angriffen auf Wohngebiete in Palästina warnend nicht-explosive Sprengsätze oder Bomben mit geringer Sprengkraft abzuwerfen. Theoretisch sollte diese Praxis die Zivilbevölkerung vor Bombenangriffen warnen, so dass sie Zeit hatte, ihre Häuser zu verlassen.

In der Realität haben die Menschen natürlich oft nicht bemerkt, was geschah, und dachten, das “dumpfe” Geräusch sei ein Schrapnell von bereits gezielten israelischen Angriffen. Folglich bezeichnete Richard Goldstone in seinem Bericht an den UN-Menschenrechtsgerichtshof diese Methode als äußerst unwirksam.

Jetzt gibt der Staat sie ganz auf, und es scheint wahrscheinlich, dass die “Warnrufe” ein ähnliches Schicksal erleiden werden, bei denen palästinensische Zivilisten ebenfalls im Voraus aufgefordert wurden, das Gelände zu verlassen. Die offiziellen Kanäle der Hamas riefen ihre Bürger jedoch heute dazu auf, alle israelischen Benachrichtigungen zu ignorieren und an ihren Plätzen zu bleiben.
