Zwei Seeleute der „Verity“ konnten die Rettungskräfte am Dienstag aus der Nordsee retten, ein Mensch konnte nach der Kollision nur noch tot geborgen werden, teilte ein Sprecher des Havariekommandos in Cuxhaven am Mittwochmorgen mit.
Am Dienstagabend stellten die Rettungskräfte die Suche nach den vier Vermissten, von denen weiterhin jede Spur fehlt, zunächst ein.
Die 22 Besatzungsmitglieder der „Polesie“ blieben unverletzt.
Das Frachtschiff wurde in der Nacht von zwei Schleppern an den Kai der Seebäderbrücke in Cuxhaven gezogen.
Die Chance jetzt noch jemand lebend aus der Nordsee zu ziehen, bei Wellengang von bis zu drei Metern, schlechter Sicht und Windstärke sechs, sinkt gen Null.
