Betroffene reagieren unterschiedlich stark auf den Pollenflug im Frühjahr. Dr. Katalin Tisa-Bostedt, Apothekerin aus Pullach, gibt im Apothekenmagazin “Diabetes Ratgeber” Tipps, wie man gut durch die Pollenzeit kommt.

Abends gründlich die Pollen abwaschen

Wer sich in dieser Zeit viel draußen bewegt, sollte wachsam sein. “Wichtig für Menschen mit Diabetes: Die Allergie sorgt dafür, dass der Körper vermehrt Hormone wie Adrenalin ausschüttet. Dies kann sich auf den Blutzucker auswirken”, erklärt Apothekerin Tisa-Bostedt. Die gute Nachricht: Antihistaminika der neuen Generation haben keinen Einfluss auf den Blutzucker und machen im Vergleich zu früher nicht mehr so müde. Diese Medikamente gegen Allergien wirken ebenfalls kaum auf den Blutzucker. “Wenn Sie antiallergische Arzneien nehmen, ist es dennoch wichtig, die Werte häufiger zu kontrollieren”, empfiehlt die Apothekerin.

Wichtig ist auch, den Pollenkalender im Blick zu behalten. Dort steht, welche Pollen gerade besonders fliegen. “So können Sie Ihre Aktivitäten draußen darauf abstimmen”, sagt Katalin Tisa-Bostedt. Hilfreich ist es, abends gründlich zu duschen, um die Pollen abzuwaschen, und die Bettwäsche häufiger zu wechseln. Nasenspülungen aus der Apotheke helfen, Pollen herauszuspülen. Tisa-Bostedt rät: “Bei starken Allergiebeschwerden gehen Sie bitte zu Ihrer Ärztin oder Ihrem Arzt.”
