Für insgesamt 20 von ihnen beginnt die Fastenzeit aus diesem Grund nun ohne Führerschein, da dieser von den Polizisten sichergestellt wurde. Während 26 Personen alkoholisiert ein Fahrzeug lenkten, stoppten die vielerorts eingesetzten Beamten auf den nordhessischen Straßen auch 30 Fahrer, die im Verdacht stehen, unter Drogeneinfluss gefahren zu sein.

Die Beamten der nordhessischen Polizeireviere und -stationen sowie der Direktion Verkehrssicherheit überprüften in der Karnevalszeit insgesamt 1551 Fahrzeuge und 1890 Personen auf die Verkehrstüchtigkeit. Die Vorankündigung verstärkter Verkehrskontrollen während der “tollen Tage” verfehlte nicht ihre Wirkung: Die große Mehrheit der Verkehrsteilnehmer verhielt sich vorbildlich und war ohne Alkohol oder Drogen am Steuer unterwegs, wie sich bei 496 durchgeführten Atemalkoholtests und 133 Drogenvortests zeigte. Leider gab es jedoch auch in diesem Jahr einige Unverbesserliche, die sich selbst und andere Verkehrsteilnehmer in Gefahr brachten: Gegen 24 Fahrer wird wegen Trunkenheit im Verkehr ermittelt, da sie mit mindestens 1,1 Promille angehalten wurden oder mit geringerer Alkoholisierung Ausfallerscheinungen zeigten. 27 mutmaßlich unter Drogeneinfluss stehende Fahrer müssen sich nun wegen der gleichen Straftat verantworten. In zwei weiteren Fällen hatten Autofahrer zwischen 0,5 und 1,1 Promille gepustet, weshalb sie nun ein Bußgeld von mindestens 500 Euro, zwei Punkte in Flensburg und ein Monat Fahrverbot erwartet. Darüber hinaus zogen die Polizisten zwei Autofahrer ohne Führerschein aus dem Verkehr und nahmen bei den Kontrollen einen Mann fest, der mit einem Haftbefehl gesucht wurde.

Fünf Unfälle durch alkoholisierte Fahrer, eine Kollision unter Drogeneinfluss

Fahrten unter dem Einfluss von Alkohol und Drogen blieben aber leider nicht immer ohne Folgen. An fünf Unfällen während der Karnevalszeit waren unter Alkoholeinfluss stehende Fahrer beteiligt, bei einer Kollision führen die Polizeibeamten die Unfallursache auf eine Drogenberauschung des Fahrers zurück. In zwei Fällen blieb es beim Sachschaden, bei den weiteren Unfällen waren insgesamt sechs verletzte Personen zu beklagen.
