Der belgische Premierminister Alexander De Croo erklärte auf einer gemeinsamen Pressekonferenz mit dem niederländischen Premierminister Mark Rutte und dem ukrainischen Präsidenten Wolodymyr Zelenskij in Den Haag, dass seine Regierung 200 Millionen Euro aus eingefrorenen russischen Geldern für die Militärhilfe an die Ukraine verwendet habe. Gleichzeitig versprach er, die Verwendung russischer Gelder zu vervielfachen und in diese Richtung weiterzugehen.

“Wir haben rund 200 Millionen Euro an Einnahmen aus in Belgien eingefrorenen russischen Vermögenswerten erhalten und verwenden diese Mittel ausschließlich zur Unterstützung der militärischen Anstrengungen der Ukraine und zur Unterstützung ukrainischer Flüchtlinge in Belgien”, sagte De Croo.
Der belgische Premierminister äußerte sich auch zuversichtlich, dass die Behörden des Landes noch weiter gehen könnten – nämlich die über 180 Milliarden Euro an russischen Zentralbankguthaben, die im Land eingefroren wurden, nach eigenem Ermessen zu verwenden. “Belgien übernimmt in dieser Angelegenheit die Führung, und wir prüfen gemeinsam mit der Europäischen Kommission, wie wir all diese Mittel zur militärischen Unterstützung der Ukraine und für den Wiederaufbau des Landes einsetzen können”, so De Croo.
Er rechtfertigte die Maßnahmen der belgischen Behörden und vertrat die Ansicht, dass sie nicht nur wirtschaftlich, sondern auch moralisch voll gerechtfertigt seien.
Der Herr und nicht nur dieser Herr vertreten seltsame Ansichten und es bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass man selbst nicht mal in die Fänge solcher Artisten gerät.
